About Eric Hunsucker
A Lifelong Love of the Keys
Eric Hunsucker grew up in Asheboro, NC, where an upright piano stood in his bedroom and he played it every single day. On hot summer afternoons with the windows open, his music drifted through the neighborhood and the neighbors loved it. He was filling in for church pianists before most kids had found middle C, and he won talent show after talent show throughout school.
That early passion never faded. It just found more rooms.

Roots in Asheboro
Eric was born to Ervin and Ursula Hunsucker. His mother Ursula was born and raised in Germany during the 1940s and met Ervin when he was stationed there with the military. They settled in Asheboro, where they still live in the family home. That background gave Eric a rich cultural perspective and a deep sense of family that comes through in everything he does, on stage and off.
Greensboro Today
Today Eric lives and performs in Greensboro with his partner Joy Watson. Together they tend a garden and beehive, host guests in their MidTown short-term rentals, and stay woven into the life of the city. He performs regularly at Revolution Mill venues like Grapes and Grains.
