Hunsucker's Place
A music-filled cottage where the piano is meant to be played and the porch light is on for you.
905 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27408 · ★4.89 (85 reviews) · Superhost, 10 years hosting
A music-inspired cottage in the heart of Idlewood, Greensboro
Hunsucker's Place is named for Eric, and the three bedrooms inside honor each of his sons, Landon, Larson, and Logan. Instruments, framed sheet music, and personal touches are woven into the decor of this revitalized 1942 cottage, creating a warm and creative atmosphere for your Greensboro stay.
Relax in the living room on a comfortable leather sofa and enjoy the 54-inch HDTV with Roku. The adjacent dining area features a playable upright piano, and yes, guests really do sit down and play it. The bright, fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and charming black-and-white checkered floors. The cozy walk-up attic den offers a private escape with two twin daybeds, an exposed brick chimney, and its own Smart TV.
A dedicated workspace and 467 Mbps WiFi make this a genuinely productive base for remote work, travel nurse rotations at Cone Health or Wesley Long, and extended contract assignments. Families visiting UNCG students love the space to spread out; the tree swing out front tends to win over the younger crowd.
Why guests keep coming back
Across 85 Airbnb reviews, the things guests mention most:
The hosting
Hospitality is the single most-mentioned theme in our reviews. You're dealing with Joy and Eric directly, neighbors who live on this street, not a management company.
Spotless, without the chemicals
Professionally cleaned between every stay with low-odor, non-toxic products and 100% cotton linens. No plug-in air fresheners, ever.
The location
Walkable to the Downtown Greenway, under 5 minutes to Cone Health, about 8 to UNCG, and less than a mile to downtown Greensboro's restaurants and breweries.
Room for everyone, pets included
Guests traveling with dogs mention how easy the stay is, and many say they're already planning a return visit.
What's here
Every stay is turned over with low-odor, fragrance-free cleaning products and 100% cotton linens, never synthetic air fresheners or heavily scented sprays. Here's why that matters for guests with fragrance sensitivities or migraines.

Pets
Hunsucker's Place is a whole-home rental and welcomes up to 2 well-behaved pets per booking for one flat, non-negotiable pet fee of $25 per night (per booking, not per pet). All pets must be listed at the time of booking, no exceptions. The backyard is a shared space (see below) and is not fully fenced, so it's not ideal for off-leash dogs.
Traveling with a cat? Please contact us before booking to disclose in writing your method for containing litter spread and preventing clawing or spraying damage. This must be confirmed before your reservation is finalized. Read why we ask about your cat before you book.
Traveling with an ESA or service animal? Read our ESA and Service Animal policy before booking. Approved ESAs are exempt from the pet fee but not from cleaning or damage charges.
Shared backyard & your tiny home neighbor
The backyard behind Hunsucker's Place is a shared space. The Urban Birdhouse Tiny Home ADU sits at the back of the yard, and it is a completely separate rental with its own guests or long-term tenant. The tiny home, its deck, and its parking pad are theirs alone, exactly the way Hunsucker's Place is yours alone. Please enjoy the shared yard and give the Birdhouse the same privacy you'd want for your own front door: no knocking, peeking in windows, or using their deck or entry area.
Curious about the tiny house? It's a special little building, built by veterans in honor of our dads. You're welcome to read its story here instead of asking its guests for a tour.
Booking & guest profile
All bookings go through Airbnb only, with no cash or off-platform reservations. Airbnb guest profiles must include a clear photo showing the guest's face. In the event of any conflict between this page and the Airbnb listing, the Airbnb listing is the governing document.
Help us take care of this home
This is a well-maintained home and we want to keep it that way. If anything breaks, runs low, or needs attention during your stay, please tell us right away rather than leaving it for the next guest to discover. We work with a trusted roster of local, non-corporate preferred vendors for repairs and upkeep, and quick reporting helps us keep response times fast.

Neighborhood: Idlewood, aka Midtown Greensboro
Idlewood sits just outside the downtown core, blending an established residential feel with easy access to city life. Tree-lined streets and mid-twentieth-century homes give the area a grounded, lived-in character. The Downtown Greenway connects this area to Cone Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, downtown Greensboro, and Battleground Avenue, so many guests get around comfortably without a car. Read our full Idlewood neighborhood guide.
Downtown Greensboro is less than a mile away with independent restaurants, breweries, live music, and local spots like Deep Roots Market. Wendover Avenue is a busy road, worth knowing, but bedrooms face the back of the house and guests consistently report a quiet interior. New to the area? See why Greensboro should be your next home.
