A book-themed cottage named for Joy's daughters

The Library of Ivy & Ellie honors Joy's daughters: Ivy, an herbalist and web designer, and Ellie, a watercolorist and engineer. The books on the shelves are really theirs. This is a whole-home rental: guests have full, private access to the entire single-level 1949 cottage, with no interior stairs and no shared spaces.

Every stay includes 100% cotton linens, cooking tools, central heat and air, a tankless gas water heater, free off-street parking in the back, and a dedicated workspace with 467 Mbps WiFi.

What's here

Fast WiFi (467 Mbps)

Short-term, mid-term, or traditional? Also great for corporate housing

Library of Ivy & Ellie works well as a short vacation stay, a home base for a UNCG or Cone Health visit, or a corporate housing solution while a relocating employee, traveling nurse, or contractor searches for something more permanent. If you're weighing a short-term rental against a mid-term or traditional lease, our breakdown of STRs, MTRs, and traditional 12-month leases lays out the differences, and this comparison of long-term vs. short-term rentals in 2026 can help you decide what fits your situation.

Rooted in the community

Joy Watson Real Estate is a family-run, local non-corporate operation. Alongside our rentals, we run Watsucker Urban Farm, where students from the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) program learn job and life skills during the school year, and a former OCS student now works with us doing maintenance and landscaping. We also lean on a trusted list of local, family-owned preferred vendors to keep every home we manage in great shape.

Check out our curated map of favorite local businesses in Greensboro! 🌻 Many are within walking distance via the Downtown Greenway, a scenic 4-mile paved trail featuring public art and neighborhood connections.

One of our top spots is Deep Roots Market, a community-owned co-op at 600 N Eugene St., where we love grabbing a meal from the hot bar. Sometimes, we drive to explore more local gems, but Greensboro’s trails make it easy to mix walking with short trips.
