Urban Birdhouse Tiny Home ADU
905 B W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27408 · 1 bedroom · 1 bath
A modern tiny home, built by veterans
This tiny home was built by a local non-profit whose mission is to build skills and reduce homelessness. We purchased this model in fall 2021 and modified it into a permanent accessory dwelling unit behind Hunsucker's Place, in quiet tribute to both of our fathers, who served in the United States Army. It's tiny, but has everything you need for a tiny-life experience, short or long.
A dedicated common-area workspace and 302 Mbps WiFi make it comfortable for remote work, and self check-in via keypad means you can arrive on your own schedule.

What's here
Every turnover uses low-odor, fragrance-free cleaning products and 100% cotton linens, never synthetic air fresheners or heavily scented sprays. Here's why that matters for guests with fragrance sensitivities or migraines. This tiny home sits walkable to downtown Greensboro in the Idlewood neighborhood; read our full Idlewood neighborhood guide.

Pets
The Urban Birdhouse welcomes up to 1 well-behaved pet, with a flat, non-negotiable fee of $100 per 30-day stay. All pets must be listed at the time of booking. Guests traveling with a cat must contact us before move-in to disclose in writing how they'll contain litter spread and prevent clawing or spraying damage. Read why we ask about your cat before you book.
Traveling with an ESA or service animal? Read our ESA and Service Animal policy before booking. Approved ESAs are exempt from the pet fee but not from cleaning or damage charges.
Tenant requirements for stays of 90+ days
Same standard we apply across all of our traditional rentals: a clean background check, no prior evictions, and a minimum credit score of 650+. Rent is paid electronically through RentRedi.
Help us take care of this home
This is a well-maintained home and we want to keep it that way. If anything breaks, runs low, or needs attention during your stay, please tell us right away rather than leaving it for the next guest or tenant to discover. We work with a trusted roster of local, non-corporate preferred vendors for repairs and upkeep, and quick reporting helps us keep response times fast.

Short-term, mid-term, or traditional? Great for corporate housing
The Urban Birdhouse is one of our most flexible properties: a short Airbnb stay once relisted, a 30-day-minimum mid-term rental for travel nurses and contractors, or a standard NC month-to-month lease for anyone relocating and needing a corporate housing bridge between homes. If you're weighing your options, our breakdown of STRs, MTRs, and traditional 12-month leases lays out the differences, and this comparison of long-term vs. short-term rentals in 2026 can help you decide what fits your situation.
Rooted in the community
Joy Watson Real Estate is a family-run, local non-corporate operation. Alongside our rentals, we run Watsucker Urban Farm, where students from the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) program learn job and life skills during the school year, and a former OCS student now works with us doing maintenance and landscaping. We also lean on a trusted list of local, family-owned preferred vendors to keep every home we manage in great shape.
