The Home

Idlewood House offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with refinished hardwood and tile floors throughout and no carpet. The layout supports both everyday living and flexible use of space.

A walk-up attic features a custom floor mural by local artist Jesse Moncle and works well as a studio, office, or retreat space. The kitchen was renovated in 2019 and includes a KitchenAid gas cooktop, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Bathrooms were also updated in 2019, maintaining original character while adding modern function.

The home has been steadily improved over time with a focus on durability and comfort rather than cosmetic shortcuts. Major improvements include a new HVAC system installed in 2022, a new roof completed in 2024, and concrete patio and gutter drainage improvements added in 2025. A tankless gas water heater supports efficient daily use.

Home-Based Work and Zoning

The property is zoned RM-5, which allows certain home-based business uses when operated in compliance with City of Greensboro ordinances. The Wendover Avenue location offers visibility while remaining part of an established residential neighborhood.

Tenants are responsible for confirming that their intended use complies with applicable city requirements.

Management and Neighborhood

We live next door and welcome new neighbors, while also respecting privacy and independence. We are not involved in tenants’ day-to-day lives, but we do care deeply about the home and the people who live there. Over the years, we have had consistently positive relationships with tenants and guests, especially with longer-term residents. Each time the home turns over, we make thoughtful improvements so it continues to get better with time.

This is a home that is actively cared for, not passively rented.

Services Included

Rent includes water, trash service, pest control, landscaping, and access to seasonal garden space. Optional professional cleaning is available through Simply Cleaned and Organized at the tenant’s expense.

Pet Policy

Pet friendly with approval. We welcome responsible pet owners whose animals are well suited to an indoor home with cared-for finishes. Pets are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure a good fit for the home. A non-refundable $300 pet fee applies per approved pet.

Service animals and emotional support animals are not considered pets and are accommodated in accordance with fair housing law. Pet fees do not apply to approved assistance animals. Residents remain responsible for any damage caused by an animal.

Idlewood House offers convenient access to Downtown Greensboro, the Downtown Greenway, parks, wellness studios, locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and neighborhood businesses. The location supports walkability, biking, and an easy commute while maintaining a residential feel.

Lease Terms

Rent is $2,000 per month on a 12-month lease. A minimum credit score of 650, a clean background check, and proof of renter’s insurance prior to move-in are required. All applications are processed in accordance with state and federal fair housing laws.

About Idlewood House

Idlewood House is a rehabbed 1948 house with a private owner’s suit in the finished walk up attic space. The floor in the upstairs bedroom was painted by a local artist Jesse Moncla and is a very unique space. There is a sitting area upstairs, bedroom and bathroom with double sink vanity. There are two bedrooms and a bath on the main floor. The kitchen features gas stove and stainless appliances. Microwave is tucked away in cabinet and laundry room is off kitchen. Tenant Access

Guests have access to the whole house and yard. Please note that the backyard is a pass throuh space with the other properties we manage on Wendover.

Other things to note

This is an rehabbed older home on a busy road within a walking distance of nightlife, restaurants, urban trail, parks, downtown and hospitals. Ambulance and fire trucks pass by regularly. People will regularly access yard to care for landscaping. Pet waste must be picked up immediately and placed in green outdoor trash can.
